Position Summary:
The Treatment Coordinator plays a pivotal role in ensuring patients grasp the importance of their dental treatment, presenting it with precision and employing a communication approach that prioritizes the patient's needs. They serve as a liaison between the patient and the clinical team, advocating for patients with their dental insurance, and fostering an environment of trust and compassion throughout the treatment journey. The primary goal is to make patients feel valued, understood, and assured that they are receiving top-notch care.
To do this, a person must have a vast understanding of dental procedures, dental insurance, and billing while working creativly to present financing options that will assist the patient in paying for their dental treatment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Accuratly estimate patients out of pocket based on the insurance benefits and insurance processing policies.
- Confirm patients out of pocket for their visit accuratly reflects what the dental benefits are
- Overcome objections from patients about starting treatment.
- Follow up with unscheduled treatment
- Obtain and confirm all required patient chart information for billing
- Present treatment plan to patient – financial arrangements
- Schedules for success assuring patients have an excellent in office experience & the schedule is maximized to have a good flow while being scheduled to goal
- At check out, collect payment from patient in the form of cash, check, credit card
- Able to perform “close out” procedures at end of day.
- Perform all other duties as requested by Practice Administrator or Dentist.
- Is professional in appearance at all times.
- Reading and auditing patient's ledgers
- Strong computer skills including excel, word, google drive, and Open Dental knowledge
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to multi task.
- Excellent phone etiquette
