Responsibilities:
- Assist veterinarians with examinations, surgeries, and other medical procedures
- Administer medications and treatments as directed by veterinarians
- Perform laboratory tests and analyze samples
- Take and develop X-rays
- Prepare animals for surgery and monitor their anesthesia during procedures
- Provide post-operative care and monitor recovery
- Educate pet owners on proper animal care and medication administration
- Maintain accurate medical records
Requirements:
- Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT) or Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) preferred
- Experience in a veterinary clinic or hospital setting
- Proficiency in dog training, handling, and restraint techniques
- Knowledge of veterinary critical care and animal physiology
- Familiarity with veterinary terminology and laboratory procedures
- Ability to perform animal catheterization and administer medications
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with pet owners and team members
