Key Responsibilities:

General Ledger Maintenance: Oversee the general ledger ensuring all entries are accurate and complete

Month-End Close: Lead the month-end and year-end closing processes including journal entries, reconciliations, and analysis

Compliance: Ensure compliance with GAAP, company policies, and relevant regulations

Internal Controls: Develop, implement, and maintain robust internal controls and accounting procedures

Audit Support: Coordinate and support external audits including preparing required documentation and responding to auditor inquiries

Fixed Assets Management: Maintain records of fixed assets including acquisitions, disposals, and depreciation

Financial Analysis: Conduct variance analysis and provide insights on financial performance to support decision-making

Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and periodic forecasts

Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices in accounting operations

Mentorship: Provide guidance and mentorship to junior accounting staff

Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field

Experience: Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience preferably within a mid-sized company or similar environment

Technical Skills: Proficient in accounting software (e.g. QuickBooks, SAP, Business Central) and Microsoft Office Suite particularly Excel
