This is a high volume school catering position. We are producing ~20,000 meals per day. This is an 8 hour shift standing and potentially cooking the same thing for the entire shift. For example, we breakdown and cook over 12,000 chicken drumsticks in a shift.
Math is crucial for this position. Must be able to quickly and correctly pan items according to instruction? For example, panning 500 slices of pizza at 18 pieces per tray.
Must be able to multitask. For example, you might have to start cooking something in the tilt skillet then pivot to wrapped cooked foods by site and labeling the pans, while continuously monitoring the tilt skillet.
Our kitchen follows the school schedule. We are typically closed for Thanksgiving, winter break, and spring break.
