Job Overview:
We are seeking a talented and motivated Designer to join our team. As a Designer, you will be responsible for taking sold building design and transforming it into a document to instruct our lumber yard, panel facility and field crews on constructing that design.
Responsibilities:
- Use our in-house, Sketchup based software to layout a building in terms of panelized wall sections
- Organize those wall sections for manufacturing, packaging and shipping
- Use our in-house, Excel based software to produce the list of raw material required
- Publish as construction documents
Skills:
- Familiarity with Sketchup, including Dynamic Components and Extensions
- Familiarity with Excel, including VBA Macros
- Familiarity with conventional 2x6 construction
- Familiarity with Pole Buildings
- Familiarity with basic manufacturing and construction concepts
Qualifications:
- Communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment
We are happy to teach on the job, but would prefer someone that can knows the basics that can learned from Wikipedia, ChatGPT, or a For Dummies Book.

We are a construction firm in Minnesota, so our busy and slow season is fairly predictable and consistent. the work provided to a person in this position will reflect that.
