This position is with our company Pure Guard, which manufactures a welded stainless steel exhaust duct system coated with our proprietary hybrid fluoropolymer PureGuard coating. Our combination of welded stainless substrate and proprietary PureGuard coating satisfied all testing requirements necessary to gain Factory Mutual standard 4922 approval for corrosive fume and smoke exhaust without sprinklers.

Discovering your exciting role
We're looking for a motivated individual to join our team as a Welder on the 2nd shift (3:30p-2a). In this exciting role, you'll be wielding your skills in GTAW (Gas Tungsten Arc Welding) and GMAW (Gas Metal Arc Welding) to create the foundation for our high-quality line of PSP® products.
Explore your tasks and responsibilities
- Set up the work area, select and verify the material for production, and meet the daily welding production and quality demands of the Weld Shop.
- Weld the following in different positions and on different gauges: stainless steel and black iron. Occasionally expected to weld other materials.
- Troubleshoot the welding equipment.
- Comply with health, safety, (including OSHA), and environmental procedures, and ensure the cleanliness of the area.
- Comply with established production philosophies designed to increase production, safety and/or quality, e.g., Lean Manufacturing, 5s and TWI methodologies.
- Continue to learn and expand one’s capacity within this job by increasing knowledge and skill base.
- Perform various other assignments per Department Lead’s direction.
- Other duties and related work may be assigned as necessary.

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
- Preferably a minimum of 1 year of experience performing GTAW or GMAW welding.
- Strong GMAW, GTAW welding skills and a knowledge of how all the equipment operates.
- Can speak and understand English with an emphasis on complying with directions, fundamental shop safety procedures, and production standards.
- Able to read and understand cut sheets and engineering prints thoroughly.
- TIG welding proficiency in light gauge stainless steel (20 ga - 16 ga)
- Knowledge of basic metallurgy and weld symbols
- Knowledge of basic sheet metal layout
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Math skills include basic arithmetic and geometry.
- Can accurately read a tape measure to 1/16"
Physical Demands
- Frequent standing, bending, sitting, and use of hands is required
- Specific vision abilities required to include close vision, and ability to adjust focus
- Occasionally perform physical activities including lifting (up to 50 lbs. unassisted)
What can you expect
The work environment characteristics include periodic noise increases when in the Manufacturing facility, although the office environment is usually quiet and respectful. Safety glasses and other required safety protection should be worn when out in the manufacturing facility, which may vary depending on the area you are working/visiting.
