FAIR seeks an energetic self-starter to join a fast-paced environment as we grow the financial resources for the organization. The Development Operations Officer is a vital member of the Development Department and is responsible for a variety of assigned tasks to support a comprehensive and growing Development program.
The Operations Officer will manage all administrative tasks for the Development Team, including:
- Managing the database
- Coordinating and executing numerous mailings
- Running the major donor thank you process
- Conducting donor research
- Maintaining and reconciling financial records
- Assisting with writing and proofing of outreach materials
- Coordinating all aspects of donor events
- Managing a small major donor portfolio, including developing relationships with current, lapsed, and prospective major donors
Qualifications
- Strong support for and alignment with FAIR’s mission
- Bachelor’s degree and 2-3 years of fundraising experience
- Other relevant experience with public policy, education, grassroots organizing, communications, writing, editing, and development
- Track record of success in building donor relationships
- Excellent research, writing, and interpersonal skills
- An outgoing “people person” with excellent communications skills
- Strong administrative and computer skills
- Be highly detail-oriented and organized
- Able to handle multiple priorities on an ongoing basis
- Unwavering commitment to professionalism in all aspects of performance
This position is at FAIR’s Washington, DC headquarters. The position is exempt, full-time, and offers generous benefits; the salary is up to $75,000.00 annually.
