The Opportunity
We are looking for a qualified Senior Accountant to join our team. Reporting to the Controller/Assistant Controller (directly) and the Chief Financial Officer (dotted line) . The Senior Accountant will perform and coordinate the daily accounting, accounts receivable, and accounts payable functions. The role will assist with month-end close and reporting, account reconciliations, building and updating supporting schedules, maintaining the general ledger, completing actual v budget variance reviews, supporting audit and tax compliance, and performing other duties as assigned.
We are looking for a detail-oriented senior accountant with the ability to perform and coordinate the above duties and an aptitude for engaging colleagues across functions and jurisdictions (we have team members in the United States, Canada, India, and Poland).
To be successful in this role, you should have a solid working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), strong analytical skills, and a desire to continually learn and upgrade your skills. An outstanding candidate will possess strong Excel skills, be detail-oriented, highly organized, be able to work with little supervision, be able to perform under pressure and be keenly interested in how the accounting function fits into the broader finance function and helps create value.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Perform and coordinate accounting, AR, and AP functions.
- Maintaining and reconciling balance sheet and general ledger accounts.
- Assisting with preparing and monitoring budgets and budget variances.
- Preparing financial analyses and reports.
- Preparing revenue projections and forecasting expenditures.
- Assist with NetSuite Administration.
- Assisting with annual audit preparations.
- Investigating and resolving audit findings, account discrepancies, and issues of non-compliance.
- Assist with federal, state, local, and special tax returns.
- Contributing to the development of new or amended accounting systems, programs, and procedures.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required.
- 3+ years of accounting experience.
- Working knowledge of tax laws and GAAP.
- Strong financial analysis skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly with Excel.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Strong organizational and stress management skills.
- 2 years of experience with NetSuite is preferred.
