Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Accountant to join our team and provide financial support and occasional admististrative support for our property management office. The ideal candidate should be detail-oriented with the ability to multi-task and has a strong background in accounting principles and practices as well as some experience in corporate tax. Office coordinator experience is also a plus. Special preference will be given to candidates with real estate or rental property management experience.
Responsibilities:
· Process payroll for internal employees and prepare all payroll reports and returns
· Oversee and perform bookkeeping functions related to property management such as tenant receivables and security deposits, rent increases, daily bank deposits and vendor payables
· Monitor new construction projects by preparing bank construction draws and paying subcontractors
· Manage the general ledger and ensure accurate recording of financial transactions including year-end adjusting entries
· Prepare monthly owner statements for managed rental properties
· Provide cash management for several bank accounts including bank reconciliations, bank transfers, and ACH files
· Assist with the implementation of new accounting policies and procedures
· Provide back-up administrative support to property managers by interacting with customers and vendors and performing other tasks to run office smoothly
Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related field.
· Must have experience in all aspects of processing payroll and preparing all employer payroll reports including monthly, quarterly, and annual payroll tax returns, filing W-2s and 1099s.
· Strong understanding of debits, credits, double-entry bookkeeping, accounts receivable and accounts payable
· Ability to perform account reconciliations accurately and efficiently
· Knowledge of technical accounting principles and practices
· Experience in corporate accounting, including financial statement preparation
· Excellent communication skills – both written and verbal
· Experience with Quickbooks Deskop and/or Quickbooks online preferred
· Experience with AppFolio property management software a bonus

Pay: $46,023.73 - $55,426.43 per year
