Responsibilities include: creating a welcoming and enjoyable dining experience for our residents and their guests. This position requires a friendly, organized, and professional individual who can efficiently manage reservations, greet guests, and coordinate seating arrangements. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills and a warm demeanor to ensure our residents and guests feel valued and well-cared for from the moment they enter our venue.
Salary $13.50- $15.53 per hour
Shifts: PT 2nd shift 3 to 4 days per week. Holidays and weekend availability is required.
If a resident alien or non-resident alien must have proper documentation to work in the U.S. If under 18, they must have a valid work permit.

Required:
- Promptly and warmly greet guests in the dining room and take all food orders in an efficient manner, following the established steps of service
- Provide a warm and friendly greeting to all residents and guests upon arrival. Ensure they feel comfortable and valued
- Handle reservations through phone calls and in-person requests. Maintain an organized reservation book or system to track reservations and waitlists
- Efficiently manage the seating chart to optimize table turnover and minimize wait times. Escort guests to their tables and provide menus
- Coordinate with servers, bussers, and kitchen staff to ensure seamless service. Inform servers of any special requests or accommodations needed
- Answer phone calls and respond to questions about the menu, venue hours, and special events. Provide information about the community’s dining options
- Ensure the host/hostess stand, entrance area, and menus are clean and well-maintained. Assist with cleaning duties as needed
- Maintain a neat and professional appearance in accordance with the venue’s dress code
- Excellent verbal communication skills and the ability to interact positively with a diverse clientele, especially seniors
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and twist for extended periods and assist with light lifting as needed
- Perform other duties and functions as assigned
Preferred
- Previous experience as a hostess or in a customer service role within the hospitality industry is preferred
- Familiarity with the unique needs and preferences of residents in a senior living community is a plus
- Proficiency with reservation systems and point-of-sale (POS) systems
