Exciting Career Opportunity for a Lead Pharmacy Technician.
Licensure: Must be licensed in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the U.S. or the District of Columbia.
Role Overview: As a Lead Pharmacist, you'll take on supervisory responsibilities in addition to the core duties of a pharmacist, playing a crucial role in the management of the production floor and the coordination of pharmacy activities. Your leadership will ensure the seamless operation and compliance with industry standards and regulations.
Qualifications:
- Certified Technicians (CPhT) shall hold a current valid certification by the National Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB), Exam for the Certification of Pharmacy Technicians (ExCPT).
- Non-certified technicians must have 6 months of experience (unless otherwise authorized by the respective CMOP) in a retail or hospital pharmacy setting; or be a graduate of an Academic Technician Training Educational Program. Not all pharmacy technicians will be required to be certified or registered (unless required by State Guidelines); however, certification is highly encouraged as several processes and certain equipment will require certified technicians.
- Must be licensed for controlled substances.
- Demonstrated experience in administrative/records management.
- Proven managerial experience with strong interpersonal skills.
- Ability to effectively manage and supervise pharmacy staff.
- VetPro certification required.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise day-to-day administration of the pharmacy production floor.
- Provide pharmaceutical verification of prescription orders including controlled substances.
- Perform Quality Assurance functions and maintain strict compliance with VA and TJC policies.
- Orient new pharmacists, assist with performance evaluations, and ensure continuous staff development.
- Manage and direct work assignments for contracted staff, ensuring high standards of pharmaceutical care.
