Rotation: Monday through Friday and rotating weekends
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
Maintains familiarity with client’s assessment, behavior/care plan, and treatment plan to ensure 1:1 and group activities continue to serve therapeutic function.
- Helps with ongoing behavioral intervention/management including assisting care staff with difficult situations, preventative measures, and environmental issues.
- Accompany clients on and participate in a variety of activities (including high intensity) in the community.
- Assist clients with household management in order to maintain a clean, safe, and healthy home environment.
- Maintain positive and effective communication with all youth, co-workers, administration and ICD teams.
- Maintain and complete documentation as specified in the client's program and state licensing regulations.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma and at least three years of direct care experience working with adolescents or adults with disabilities, mental health needs and high behavioral needs is required.
- Must be 21 or older.
- Clear communication skills, including the ability to write legibly and pass on large amounts of grammatically sound information.
- Ability to type large amounts of information at a reasonable speed.
- Ability to read, interpret and apply all program documents and communication with little redirection.
- Ability to read assigned developmental readings pertaining to the program and youth served.
- Proven track record of team leadership in Community Residential or Group settings.
- Must have a Driver's License and reliable transportation.
- Ability to engage in high levels of physical activity including, but not limited to biking, running, hiking for extended periods of time.
- Ability to adhere to professional documentation standards that align with 245D licensing standards as well as state regulatory requirements.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Maintaining a positive and uplifting attitude to contribute the mission of Joy for the organization is required.
- Preferred: Experience with youth with high behavioral needs.
