Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Dental Hygienist to join our team. As a Dental Hygienist, you will play a crucial role in providing quality dental care to our patients. Responsibilities:
- Perform dental hygiene procedures, including cleaning, scaling, and polishing teeth
- Conduct oral examinations and screenings for signs of oral diseases
- Take and develop dental x-rays for diagnostic purposes
- Administer local anesthesia as needed
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and provide personalized oral health instructions
- Assist the dentist during dental procedures
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including medical history, treatment plans, and progress notes
- Follow infection control protocols to ensure a safe and clean environment
- Adhere to HIPAA regulations regarding patient privacy and confidentiality
Skills:
- Proficient in dental assisting techniques, including chairside assisting and instrument sterilization
- Knowledge of infection control procedures and practices
- Familiarity with medical imaging techniques for dental diagnostics
- Ability to take vital signs accurately and record them in patient charts
- Understanding of medical coding principles for accurate billing and insurance claims
- Strong organizational skills to maintain detailed medical records
- Knowledge of dental anatomy and oral health systems
- Excellent communication skills to effectively educate patients on oral hygiene practices
