We are looking for a Behavior Technician to join our dynamic team and provide support to Adults with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities., as well as significant behavioral challenges.
It is required when applying for this position to have a current RBT certification at least 1 year of paid experience working with Adults with significant behavioral challenges and Intellectual/Developmental Disabilities.
The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing behavior plans, recording daily data and documentation, monitoring progress, providing feedback to professionals, and the ability to think critically and problem solve in challenging situations.
Responsibilities:
. Provide direct instruction and implementation of the Behavior Intervention Plans developed by the BCBA and IPP goals, in 1-1, small group, and class settings.
· Implementation of behavior therapy techniques including Applied Behavior Analysis.
· Implementation of approved de-escalation and crisis management techniques (Pro-Act), when responding to behavioral emergencies.
· Collect, record, and summarize data on observable client behavior; document interventions, report progress on goals, record session notes, collect data for behavior assessments, and any additional programming as directed.
· Develop and implement formal structured schedules and activities for both small group, and classroom based participation.
· Ability to independently maintain a classroom, and reinforce instruction to an individual or small groups of clients with severe behaviors.
· Create clients annual IPP goals with the support of the Behavior Specialist and BCBA.
· Communicate client progress to the Behavior Specialist, BCBA, client families/and or care providers, case workers, and licensing entities.
· Assist with staff training including implementation of Behavioral Intervention Plans, and preparation of related materials;
· Attend all Departmental meetings with the Behavioral Specialist and the BCBA, and work collaboratively to provide updates and recommendations for client programming;
· Abide by the ethical guidelines outlined by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board;
· Immediately report any witnessed, suspected, or reported client abuse or neglect under the mandated reporting requirements;
· Provide daily transportation for clients in the Behavior Management Program, and other facility clients as assigned;
· Assist clients with physical, medical, and/or personal hygiene needs including but not limited to monitoring of medical conditions, administering medications, lifting, dressing, feeding, toileting/diapering;
· Provide coverage in other groups, classrooms, or departments as assigned;
· Ensure the safety and welfare of clients and report any accidents, incidents, hazards, or unsafe conditions to management;
· Ensure Client’s Personal Rights are maintained at all times;
· Ability to maintain strict confidentiality of client information.
· Obtain knowledge of, and implement emergency and disaster plans;
· Other functions as assigned to ensure the agency standards, practices, policies and procedures are met.
TYPICAL DUTIES:
· Take baseline data for new client’s assigned to classroom or group and other participants;
· Plan and schedule community integration activities and outings;
· Develop and follow individual schedules/goals to ensure that program and individual goals are implemented;
· Assist with physician prescribed medications and treatments;
· Ensure clients who are incontinent remain clean and dry at all times;
· Monitor hydration and nutrition; ensuring consistent hydration and monitor clients with eating disorders to ensure harmful food or materials are not consumed;
· Ensure familiarity with early signs of illness and the need for professional assistance and immediately report signs of illness to management or nursing staff;
· Familiar with each supervised baseline physical, mental, and emotional behaviors. Report any changes to management;
· Instruct, plan, and motivate program client’s;
· Maintain and audit files;

Pay: $27.00 - $29.00 per hour
