Salary Range $68,640 to $79,040. The provided pay scale represents the range that The Redwoods reasonably expects to offer. Actual compensation may vary based on the candidate’s qualifications and experience.
POSITION SUMMARY
This position primarily manages resident medical records and health information systems in accordance with applicable regulations and facility policy the administrative aspects of the skilled nursing admissions process. In addition, this position coordinates/completes the administrative aspects of the skilled nursing admissions process. It is also an expectation that there be active participation in the facility’s various quality improvement activities and to serve as part of the Interdisciplinary Team (IDT).
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Two to three years of medical records experience in a skilled nursing facility (SNF) setting)- Required.

Preferred: Credential in health information management (e.g. RHIT).

One to two years of experience with the admissions process at a SNF, subacute, rehab, or other health care center- Preferred
-
Professional telephone skills and ability to handle referral calls effectively and efficiently.

Experience with Medicare and Medi-Cal guidelines/regulations—Required.

Able to handle highly confidential information.

Must possess, as a minimum, a high school education or its equivalent.

Must be organized, detail oriented and assertive.

Must possess a basic knowledge of medical terminology and nursing practices.

Competent in use of computers particularly Microsoft Outlook, PointClickCare, My Ability or must have the ability to become proficient quickly with training.

Demonstrates proficiency in clear and effective English communication, both verbal and written, coupled with a strong ability to comprehend and execute instructions accurately in various formats. Secondary languages are a plus.

Highly organized and efficient.

Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends and holidays.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

May need to sit for up to 6 hours per day

Able to lift 25 pounds

Must be willing and able to assist in lifting and transferring appropriate residents and pushing wheelchairs if needed.

Pushing and pulling heavy objects including carts and supplies.
