JOB SUMMARY We are seeking a skilled Social Media Analyst to support the U.S. Marine Corps Forces, Pacific (MARFORPAC) Communication Strategy and Operations (COMMSTRAT). This role involves analyzing traditional and social media content, identifying trends, and providing actionable insights to enhance the unit’s online presence and communication strategies.
MAIN OBJECTIVES
- Analyze traditional and social media content to determine the extent of reach and dissemination.
- Identify trends, key themes, personalities, and issues in media coverage.
- Perform sentiment analysis and assess engagement with posts.
- Translate and analyze non-English news and social media sources.
- Monitor activity on specified third-party social media accounts.
- Provide real-time monitoring and alerts for potential crises.
- Offer demographic information on users interacting with Marine Corps-related content.
- Develop customizable reports and visual representations of data.
SCHEDULE OF WORK
- Full-time, flexible schedule with 24/7 access to the necessary tools and platforms.
PLACE OF PERFORMANCE
- Fully remote position. Work can be performed anywhere with an internet connection.
PERIOD OF PERFORMANCE
- Base Year: September 16, 2024 – September 15, 2025
- Option Year: September 16, 2025 – September 15, 2026
QUALIFICATIONS
- Proven experience in social media analysis and monitoring.
- Proficiency in natural language processing and machine learning algorithms.
- Ability to perform sentiment analysis and trend identification.
- Experience with real-time monitoring and crisis alert systems.
- Strong skills in creating customizable reports and data visualizations.
- Must be a U.S. citizen or Permanent Resident Alien with a verified U.S. Permanent Resident Card.
- Ability to obtain DBIDS credentials and pass background checks.
