Our statewide premier kayak tour company is expanding in the Sarasota area and it sounds like you would be a perfect fit! We are looking for outgoing, nature loving individuals to fill a role as ecotour guide.
This role will include facilitating an amazing experience for guests on a 2 to 2.5-hour experience in WILD FLORIDA in 100% clear kayaks!
Perfect for students + people passionate/ studying conservation, education, environmental studies, biology, Florida Master Naturalist, or teachers.
The ideal candidate will have the equipment for the tour setup prior to guests arrival so they can, interact with guests during check-in, load and unload kayak tours, and engage with guests during the tour with a friendly, knowledgeable, and welcoming attitude. Tour guides complete all of our kayaking operations, including setup, cleanup, and maintenance.
Qualifications:
- Ability to take a CPR certification class in the first 30 days. Already CPR certified? Awesome let us know!
- You must be comfortable instructing groups of up to 10 people. We host small tours (1-5 kayaks) and strive for a personal learning experience for every guest!
- This is a part-time role
- Available 3-4 days per week, including weekend days
- Must be able to load and unload several kayaks on and off of a rack multiple times a day.
- Able to lift 60 pounds multiple times a day.
- A passion for being outdoors and willingness to learn and teach others. Have a background in interpretation? Let us know!
- Strong communication skills.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver safe, engaging and fun guided ecotours!
- Provide relevant information about the tour focusing on the ecosystem and wildlife that call this area home. (Training will be given).
- Ensure safety for all guests and help assist in paddling technique and skill.
- Cleaning and maintaining equipment.
- Provide high-quality and professional customer service.
- Maintain a CPR/BLS certification.

- Kayaking or outdoor recreation: 1 year (Preferred)
- Customer Service: 1 year (Preferred)
- Will train the right outgoing, nature-loving, customer service-oriented person without experience.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $180.00 - $300.00 per day
Expected hours: 16 – 32 per week
