Medical Billing Associate
South Portland, Maine
Chest Medicine Associates is seeking a Medical Billing Associate, to be based in the South Portland office.
Requirements of the Medical Billing Associate:
· Associate’s Degree or higher preferred.
· Minimum of 3 years of medical practice business office experience.
· Highly proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications and electronic medical records (EMR)
· Familiarity with medical billing and insurances
· Must be detail-oriented and possess superb organizational skills.
· Must have excellent oral and written communication skills.
· Ability to prioritize work.
· Ability to work onsite M-F in South Portland, Maine

Responsibilities of the Medical Billing Associate:
· Functions as entry level support staff for billing and insurance referrals.
· Provides general office support across the practice, including data entry, scanning/faxing, and mail duties.
· Creates patients’ electronic charts,
· Functions as back up for Business Services Manager.
· Always presents a polite and courteous manner with willingness to meet patients’ needs.
· Participates in compliance of OSHA/HIPAA/OIG regulations.
