The Role
The Senior Accounting Manager’s primary focus is to ensure complete and accurate accounting records for all Balance Sheet and Income Statement accounts for a dynamic, multi-entity company. This person will lead the accounting team to ensure that all financial information and schedules are accurate and prepared timely to support the continued growth of the Company. This position reports to the VP of Finance & Accounting at DRINKS.
What You’ll do

Hands-on ownership of the full cycle accounting process and financial statement consolidation of multiple entities

Maintain compliance with US GAAP, ensuring accuracy and integrity of the general ledger

Manage and mentor members of the accounting team

Execute month-end close efforts by preparing and/or reviewing journal entries, account reconciliations and supporting schedules, to include:

Serve as subject matter expert in analyzing and recording sales activity for the various partnerships

Apply ASC 606 revenue recognition principles

Manage the accounting for capitalized software costs

Oversee the intercompany transactions and reconciliations

Prepare analyses and journal entries for non-standard transactions as well as ad hoc reports and analysis of financial data as requested by the VP or CFO

Lead the preparation of the monthly financial package and variance analysis versus the budget, forecast, and prior year for management

Create monthly financial and KPI reporting by leveraging a variety of systems to gather necessary data

Lead the annual financial statement audit

Partner with the VP to develop and improve accounting policies, procedures, and controls

Work cross functionally to resolve accounting questions and issues quickly

Review/prepare and file property tax, sales tax, and other regulatory filings
About You
-
Bachelor’s degree in a Finance or Accounting related field

CPA certification preferred
-
Strong knowledge of US GAAP and financial reporting

6+ years of relevant accounting experience, including 3 years of public accounting

Operating experience with SaaS, ecommerce and/or startup businesses

Subscription billing experience is a plus

Exposure to ERP systems, particularly NetSuite

Experience across the finance software stack, implementation experience a plus

Experience working with multiple business units within a company preferred

Primary Location: Los Angeles, CA
Primary Location Compensation Range: $120,000-$140,000/yr.
