Job Description:
The Command team is seeking an experienced construction Superintendent to manage our projects. The Superintendent oversees staff performance, collaborate with inspectors, engineers and owners, and ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
This role requires excellent communication skills, as you’ll work in partnership with various people. In order to succeed, it’s important to know how to implenment quality, health, and safety standards onsite. Take Command of jobsite safety!
The Superintendent must be organized, able to work well under pressure, can monitor projects from planning to completion (schedule tasks), follow quality standards and ensure the safety and security of the construction site and have a minimum 10 years of experience in this field, we’d like to meet you.
Qualifications and primary responsibilities are as follows:
Requirements & Skills:
- Minimum years’ experience in Heavy Highway & Roadway Construction Industry and Municipality experience as a construction superintendent or similar role
- In-depth understanding of construction operations and processes
- Knowledge of local quality, safety, and health guidelines for construction job sites
- Ability to make decisions under tight deadlines.
- Ability to manage multiple activities to accomplish desired results.
- Demonstrate leadership skills with ability and willingness to face challenges, direct others, and effectively address conflict.
- Demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills
- Familiar with local DOT standards.
- OSHA 30 hour training.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Applications
- Organizational and time-management skills
- Ability to lead and inspire
Primary Responsibilities:
- Manage and oversee the construction and activities associated with the construction of a heavy highway/heavy civil project.
- Ensure project completion on time, within budget, and per the project plans and specifications.
- Monitor and Enforce company policy as it relates to safety and quality.
- Able to read plans and perform material and quantity estimates for various phases and scopes of work to be completed.
- Work with Operations Manager to ensure adequate manpower and equipment is allocated to the project.
- Work with Project Management Team to derive construction schedules, progress estimates, change orders, and report work completed to date to achieve positive results.
- Direct, Coordinate and Collaborate with engineers, subcontractors, etc. to determine project needs and activities
- Estimate costs and ensure the project is on budget
- Maintain daily progress reports.
- Set performance goals and deadlines
- Supervise staff and provide constructive feedback
- Monitor and report on project progress
- Plan inspections
- Order the appropriate equipment and arrange for regular maintenance
- Keep track of material stock and orders
- Ensure the job site remains safe, clean, and orderly
- Resolve on-site issues and emergencies

Pay: $90,000.00 - $105,000.00 per year
