Office Coordinator - Anatomic Pathology - (240000RK)
Description
Reporting to the Manager, the AP Office Coordinator provides secretarial support to Pathologists and other staff members in the Anatomic Pathology department; works independently under general supervision; is responsible for providing secretarial and administrative support services such as receiving visitors, scheduling meetings, conferences and maintaining pathologist’s calendar; types correspondence, prepares spreadsheets and presentations, and conducts special projects, as assigned. Under general supervision and following established policies, procedures and professional guidelines, the AP Office Coordinator is responsible for the receipt, correlation and delivery of specimens and reports; adheres to biological and safety policies; has knowledge of medical transcription; performs troubleshooting and quality assurance monitoring; maintains surgical pathology files and records; follows detailed procedures, and perform all computer functions. Responsible for performing job duties in accordance with the mission, vision and values of Tampa General Hospital.
Qualifications
- High school graduate. Two years of progressive clerical or secretarial experience; education beyond high school may substitute for one year of experience.
- Proficient in the use of MS Office, Word and Excel software.
- Knowledge of medical terminology or transcription preferred.
