Our client, a large food production company, located on the South Side of Chicago, is looking for a Maintenance Supervisor.
Responsibilities:
Will provide maintenance support to ensure the safe and effective operation of equipment and team.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
· Performs necessary troubleshooting and repairs to plant and house equipment.
· Schedules repair, maintenance, and installation of machines, tools, and equipment to ensure continuous production operations.
· Reviews job orders to determine work priorities.
· Plans, develops, and implements new methods and procedures designed to improve operations, minimize operating costs, and effect greater utilization of labor and materials.
· Overall accountability for equipment reliability to ensure production and other operating requirements are met and meet quality standards.
· Educates, develops, and motivates the maintenance work force to achieve required production, safety, and quality goals while improving technical and teamwork skills.
· Monitor and maintain plant utilities, low pressure steam boilers, wastewater, fire suppression and refrigeration system.
· Manages the facility's repair request and preventative maintenance programs using CMMS system Mpulse.
· Works with the Engineering, Maintenance Manager and production departments to ensure that daily requirements, PM schedules and goals are established and met on both 1st & 2nd shift.
· Ability to supervise weekend maintenance activities as needed.
· Complete annual performance evaluations for team members.
· Supports and maintains compliance with all Food Safety & Security policies and procedures.
· Other duties as assigned by Engineering and Maintenance Manager.
Requirements:
· At least 3 years of maintenance supervisory or similar background in the food production industry
· Must have strong knowledge of mechanical/electrical experience with packaging and production equipment.
· Must have knowledge and experience in PM program development and implementation.
· Strong trouble shooting and problem-solving skills are required.
· Knowledge of electrical, basic hydraulics, pneumatics, plumbing, refrigeration and welding is preferred.
· Experience with refrigeration and HVAC systems is a plus.
· Knowledge of computerized maintenance management systems, Mpulse is a plus
· Walking, some sitting, climbing, lifting for a minimum of 8 hours per day.
· Strong verbal and written communication skills are a must with the ability to comprehend both types of communication. Bilingual is a plus (Spanish/English).
· Ammonia Operator 1 & 2 certification (or ability to obtain certification)
