Position Summary
Greets and serves food and/or beverages to patrons from the clubhouse or halfway house.
Work Schedule
- Position will begin on or around August 1st.
- This is a seasonal position and will run through October.
- Golf clubhouse hours of operation are typically dawn to dusk (5:30 A.M to 9:00 P.M. depending on the season). Must be available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Take member/guest food and/or drink orders.
- Cook/prepare food orders.
- Prepare/serve beverage orders.
- Assemble food on tray; procure items from each station as necessary.
- Serve meal; place dishes by courses in front of each person; serve from left of the person.
- Check back to ensure member/guest satisfaction.
- Remove soiled dishes as guests finished.
- Verify accuracy of prices, state and federal taxes, tips and other charges on all checks and present bill to guests.
- Handle all cash and credit cards as applicable from guest/member charges as prescribed by standard operating procedures.
- Keep tables, dining room and kitchen areas clean and tidy.
- Advises supervisor of any complaints as soon as they occur.
- Performs side work, clean-up and closing duties as assigned.
- Attend staff meetings as requested.
- Turn in signed tip declaration form weekly (where applicable)
- Perform other duties as appropriate.
- Provide food and beverage service to golfers on the course in accordance with the food and beverage menu and company quality standards.
- Maintain cleanliness, neat appearance and sanitation of equipment and beverage cart.
- Requisition supplies from club’s kitchen and storeroom, and ensure proper transfer and storage.
- Ensure that required income, cost control and inventory procedures are consistently used.
- Comply with applicable health, alcoholic beverage, fire and other laws/requirements.
- Ensure that beverage cart is operating properly. Report malfunctions to supervisor as appropriate.
Education/Qualifications/Certifications
- High school Diploma.
- 1 year server/bartender experience preferred.
- Demonstrated quality written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to analyze and solve problems; efficiently handle multiple duties under pressure with minimal supervision; work flexible hours as required including nights/weekends.
- Positive attitude, professional manner and appearance in all situations.
- BASSET certification or ability to obtain one with 7 days of hiring.
- ServSafe Food Handler Certification or ability to complete within 7 days of hiring.
- Must be 21 years of age or older.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Requires full range of physical movement – bending, reaching, lifting, etc.
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Requires regular use of cooking equipment including ovens.
- Ability to work outside in any weather conditions including extreme cold or heat.
