About North Park Sports Complex
North Park Sports Complex [NPSC] is a locally owned and operated indoor sports arena and outdoor recreation area conveniently located near North Park. We are a premiere multi-purpose, cross-seasonal sports facility (dome) dedicated to developing and enhancing sports skills in an enjoyable environment for residents and all teams in the area. We focus on Youth & Adult Sports Leagues, Camps & Clinics for people of all ages and skill levels.
Overview
We are seeking an energetic, knowledgeable, and collaborative person to develop, implement and manage the North Park Flag Football Program for children ages 5-12. This is a part-time (weekly commitment of 3-5 hours), year-round position, and requires excellent organization, communication & problem-solving skills; prior experience in developing youth programming, coaching youth sports, or working with youth in a recreational or wellness setting; and a passion for service.
We start each session with an “NFL Combine”-type event to set teams, and observe how coaches interact with players.
Job Duties
· Plan, prepare and deliver exceptional flag football programs to meet NPSC’s mission and values, serve NPSC customers and the community, and attract new customers to participate in leagues at the NPSC.
· Organize teams and schedules for the flag football league
· Recruit and direct volunteer parents, coaches and referees
· Assist in oversight of physical facilities and maintenance of equipment
· Staff management and scheduling
· Sponsorship opportunities
Skills and Qualifications
· Must have updated child abuse clearances
· Leadership and communication skills are essential
· Excellent customer service skills are required.
· Ability to communicate effectively with both staff and customers
· Ability to communicate effectively verbally, non-verbally and in writing is required
· Excellent strategic, budgetary and operational planning skills
· Functional computer skills are required.
· Ability to multi-task.
Working Conditions
· Routine work during evenings and weekends and occasional extended hours.
· Sessions run 6-7 weeks
· Weekly time commitment is 3-5 hours
o 1-2 hours communicating Mon-Fri
o 3 hours directing league games on weekends
· Must be able to stand for long periods of time
