Food Laboratory Quality Specialist
1st Shift
Salary $45,000 to $60,000
The Quality Specialist’s primary responsibilities are to assist the Quality department in the oversight of all quality systems including that required by the Company Food Safety and Quality System (FSQS) and the Safe Quality Foods (SQF) system.
Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following principal duties:

Daily verification and maintenance of production records.

Daily maintenance of Product Release Records.

Verification and maintenance of Facility Operational Inspections.

Enters completed maintenance Work Orders into the appropriate logs.
-
Manage the Positive Release System including the creation of Certificate of Analyses (COAs) and release of finished product.

Verifies files, and maintains calibration and laboratory records
-
Transfers required documents and data to the shared document system
-
Creates Certificates of Conformance (COC) documents when required by customers.

Assists with the New Product Development (NPD) process and completes associated documents including:

Maintains the Supplier Approval Register and all related supplier documentation and forms.

Assists with the training program by:
-
Generating and uploading the training rosters.
-
Filing and recording training tests.
-
Maintaining the Training Register.

Assists with the Sanitation program by:
-
Generating the monthly Master Sanitation Schedules.
-
Entering sanitation data into the Master Sanitation Schedule Matrix and calculating scores.

Filing all related paperwork.

Participates in Internal and External audits
-
Assists QA department by managing the Corrective Action/Preventative Action (CAPA) program

Participates as a member of the Self Inspection Team (SIT) and the Food Safety Team (FST).

Responsible for identifying and reporting issues that could affect food safety and quality.

Actively participates in customer complaint investigation and resolution.

Follows company policies, safety program, SOPs, GMPs and Food Safety (HACCP) procedures.

Assist in all other duties as assigned.
General Requirements:
1.Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook software.
2.Must be a high school graduate.Some college education is a plus.
3.Minimum of two years’ experience in the Food Industry and/or Third-Party Laboratory environment.
4.GFSI Audit experience (BRC or SQF)
5.HACCP/FSP & PCQI certification preferred.
6.Sanitation documentation experience preferred.
7.Salary is dependent on experience
