Summary: Install, maintain and repair electrical power, communications, lighting and control systems under the direction of the Field Electrical Technician (Certified Electrician).
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited, to the following:
- Perform general electrical maintenance under the direction of the Field Electrical Technician
- Assist in the Installation, maintenance and repair of electrical control, wiring, and lighting systems
- Inspect transformers and circuit breakers and other electrical components
- Troubleshoot electrical issues using appropriate of testing devices
- Repair and replace equipment, electrical wiring, or fixtures
- Circuit breaker corrective maintenance
- Work and repair air conditioning systems
- Assist in the inspection of electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with codes.
- Advise management on whether continued operation of equipment could be hazardous.
- Maintain current electrician's license or identification card to meet governmental regulations
- Makes preliminary line-of-site surveys from communication towers using climbing and safety gear
- Identifies and replaces malfunctioning or inoperative equipment and perform repairs and do preventative maintenance of network equipment or shelter or towers.
- Troubleshoots entire communications system to determine the cause of the problem
- Install new links and work with antenna mounts, coax weather proofing, tower stripping and painting
- Install Transmition Lines, hard lines, eleptical ware guides, and pressurized lines.
- Install MW, cabinets, racks, pipes and Optical Fiber
Education and/or Experience:
- 1 year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Electrician Assistant License

- · Strong knowledge in electrical procedures and best safety practices
- · Basic Knowledge in computers
- · Basic knowledge of use and care of hand tools and telecommunication equipment
- · Knowing hazard associating with tower climbing, and working on or near energized lines and equipment
- · Analyzing situations accurately and adopt an appropriate course of action
- · Recognizing safety hazards and performing duties in a safe manner
- · Employee corporal weight and tools combined may not exceed 280 pound weight limit as specified by the manufacturer or safety equipment
- Other Qualifications:
- Ability to speak and write Spanish and English
- Able to work weekend and different shifts
- Strong communication and listening skills
- Ability to coordinate multiple activities
- Exceptional interpersonal communication skills
- Exception planning, organization and time management skills; self-starter
- High level of professionalism and integrity; good judgment
- Work under close supervision
- Valid Driver’s license.
