The Senior Product Manager for Product Delivery is a critical role responsible for partnering directly with Business Partners and Product Engineering to deliver on business initiatives and support. This role involves driving product vision and delivery, managing stakeholder relationships, and ensuring alignment with corporate strategy and business needs. As a senior product manager, you will lead the product lifecycle from ideation to release, driving innovation, and ensuring the successful delivery of high-impact products.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Vision and Delivery: Drive the vision and product delivery of business partner products and tools that streamline processes, reduce operational costs, and increase productivity.
- Driving Innovation: Develop and deliver cutting-edge solutions that keep business partners at the forefront of industry advancements.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with business partners, product engineering teams, and stakeholders to gather requirements, shape product goals, and ensure a comprehensive understanding of product needs and emerging trends.
- Market Research: Conduct market research to identify opportunities for new products and improvements to existing products.
- Product Strategy: Document platform governance, standardization, and the digital product strategy and value roadmap for platforms.
- Requirements and Specifications: Establish and maintain requirements and specifications for new and existing products. Prioritize product opportunities using criteria and requirements defined during research.
- Product Backlog Management: Manage the product backlog, making appropriate tradeoffs to deliver the highest value to stakeholders. Support active development to ensure product requirements are satisfied.
- Metrics and Success Assessment: Develop metrics to assess the success of products and features, and determine necessary enhancements.
- Complex Data Utilization: Utilize complex data sets to gain insights into use cases, validate business needs, and translate them into functional outcomes.
- Cost Management: Manage all costs for delivery of products and portfolios. Ensure proper allocation of expenses and provide transparent information for stakeholders.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree/4-year Degree.
- 5 or more years of experience in Product Management or Business Analysis.
Equivalent Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma/GED
- 10 or more years of experience in Product Management or Business Analysis.
Required Knowledge and Skills
- Expertise in Jira and Confluence Wiki.
- Proficiency in breaking down product and portfolio requests into feature requests, product releases, epics, and business stories for solution design.
- Familiarity with the enterprise reporting technologies, including Tableau and PowerBI.
- Excellent verbal and written interpersonal and negotiation skills.
- Ability to provide enterprise-wide training programs and educational resources in product feature delivery.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with coordinating multiple internal and external teams across multi-year programs.
- Knowledge of system development life cycles and methodologies.
- Strong time management and strategic analytical skills.
- Interpersonal skills for explaining complex concepts to a wide range of audiences.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and product management/delivery software.
- Knowledge of CSX financial and PMO standard operating procedures.
