Job Description and Duties
What Does a Club Lifeguard Do?
A Club lifeguard monitors pool activities and ensures member safety. Lifeguards need to possess knowledge of rescue procedures and emergency medical procedures. To help prevent incidents, lifeguards must enforce all safety guidelines as outlined by The Club at The Township. To ensure safety, lifeguards must remain alert throughout an entire shift.
Lifeguards may or may not be limited to the following:
1. Weekly checks of chemical levels in the pool to ensure the safety of our members and facility cleanliness.
2. Cleaning out skimmer buckets weekly, using the cleaning tools provided for cleaning out any debris that may arrive in the pool from surrounding trees, and occasional maintenance on our tiles surrounding the pool to prevent residue build-up.
3. Cleaning the bathrooms 2-3 a day to ensure the facility is up to our brand standards.
4. Shall there be any weather-related issues, lifeguards are expected to be knowledgeable of policies and procedures to ensure safety.
5. Owning all areas of the pool and making sure members and guest are wearing the correct arm band for access of the current day along with ensuring our policies are being adhered too.
6. There will be opening and closing checklists done each shift to maintain expectations. These checklists will be finalized by the manager on duty of the shifts worked.
Shifts of this position will vary. Candidates MUST be available to work the weekend for whatever shift is needed. We are also open the entire summer. Time off will be allowed on a first come first serve basis and must be requested in a timely manner that follows our policies.
What Certifications are Necessary?
To gain a Club lifeguard job, the applicant must hold and CPR certification. A lifeguard may need to possess a pre-employment physical and a skills test. Additional job duties a lifeguard performs include preparing activity and incident reports and performing pool maintenance.

How Much Do They Get Paid?
A Club lifeguard earns about $10/$11 an hour. Pay typically varies by location and duration in the position. Some Club lifeguards may earn higher hourly wages.
