Title: Toddler Montessori Directress
Summary: The Toddler Montessori Directress plays a pivotal role in creating a nurturing, stimulating, and developmentally appropriate environment for toddlers in accordance with Montessori principles. Responsible for guiding and supporting the holistic growth of toddlers aged 18 months to 3 years, fostering their independence, curiosity, social skills, and cognitive development.
Responsibilities:
1. Curriculum Development:
o Design and implement a Montessori-based curriculum tailored to toddlers' developmental needs.
o Create age-appropriate learning activities that encourage independence, exploration, and self-discovery.
o Plan and organize the learning environment to facilitate learning experiences.
2. Classroom Management:
o Maintain a safe, orderly, and inviting classroom environment conducive to learning and exploration.
o Provide individualized attention and support to each toddler's developmental progress.
o Supervise and guide toddlers in various activities, ensuring adherence to Montessori principles.
3. Observation and Assessment:
o Conduct regular observations to assess toddlers' progress and identify individual needs.
o Keep detailed records of each child's development, behaviors, and milestones.
o Collaborate with parents/guardians to share observations and discuss developmental goals.
4. Cultivating Independence and Social Skills:
o Encourage independence in daily activities such as toileting, dressing, eating, and cleaning up.
o Facilitate social interactions and promote positive peer relationships among toddlers.
o Support emotional development and conflict resolution skills.
5. Parent Communication and Engagement:
o Maintain open and effective communication with parents/guardians regarding their child's progress, activities, and any concerns.
o Organize and conduct parent-teacher meetings, workshops, or informational sessions as needed.
6. Professional Development:
o Stay updated on the latest Montessori methodologies and early childhood education practices.
o Participate in professional development opportunities, workshops, and training sessions.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Montessori Education, or a related field.
· Montessori certification for the toddler level (AMS, AMI, or other accredited Montessori training).
· Previous experience working with toddlers in a Montessori environment is highly desirable.
· Strong understanding of child development principles and Montessori philosophy.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
· Patience, empathy, and a passion for working with toddlers.
· Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and parents.
Need to be at least 20 years old and have at least one year minimum full-time verifiable experience working with children in a group setting (Examples would be working in a child care center, Sunday School, or other job working with children younger than 13 years old and can be verified by a letter from that employer) Only truly qualified and interested candidates should apply.
