```Overview:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Assistant Preschool Director/Curriculum Coordinator to join our team. The position is primarily responsible for working with and supervising lead teacher staff in developing and implementing age-appropriate curriculum. The Assistant Director of Jacob’s Learning Ladder is a member of the Grace Presbyterian Church Staff. As a member of the Grace staff, they work closely with other members of the staff, members of the Jacob’s Learning Ladder Board, governing committees, and the congregation. The Assistant Director must exhibit a passion for early childhood education and excellent communication skills with staff, parents, and anyone conducting business with the program.
Duties:
- Assumes the responsibilities of the Director in her/his absence.
- Design and facilitate annual curriculum, including incorporation of Christian principles where appropriate.
- Primarily responsible for working with and supervising lead teacher staff in developing and implementing curriculum appropriate for all ages of children enrolled in the program.
- Responsible for supervising and developing the Curriculum Plan Handbook that is given to parents at the time of enrolment.
- Responsible for leading all monthly curriculum meetings with lead staff.
- Review and critique lesson plans for each upcoming month.
- Assist the Program Director in the enrollment process that ensures children are enrolled efficiently and acclimated smoothly into classrooms that are developmentally appropriate.
- Assist Program Director in planning and implementing all staff monthly meetings including team building and other activities as necessary.
- Assist Program Director in planning and implementing special programs and activities with students and their families throughout the school term.
- Assist Program Director in organizing and implementing parent/teacher conferences.
- Create and implement assessment guides to assist the classroom teachers in preparing for parent/teacher conferences.
- In collaboration with the Program Director plan and attend, if requested, any conferences that might be necessary with parents for social, behavioral, or academic concerns with a child.
- Provide teachers with adequate supplies to support curriculum.
- Assist Program Director to provide information on the program and direct tours to interested families.
Experience:
- Current Directors License for 100 students registered with KDHE
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a licensed daycare program as a Director, Assistant Director or Lead Teacher
- Familiarity with state licensing regulations and accreditation standards
- Proven organization and communication skills with both adults and children
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel etc.)
- Current certification in First Aid and CPR
- Strong background in Early Childhood Curriculum and developmental expectations for children ages 12 month through 6 years
