Position: HR Specialist (Employee Relations & Recruiting)

Role
- The HR Specialist will be responsible for managing the employee relations & recruiting functions of Canopy Management. This role will help facilitate daily HR functions with a strong focus on recruiting, onboarding, annual reviews, company policy, and employee morale & retention. This role will be cross-functional in its ability to assist the Finance department in communicating benefit programs including healthcare and 401k, as well as help crafting ascension plans and a formal complaint escalation system.
Responsibilities:
Recruiting & Onboarding:
- Source, screen, interview, and select top talent.
- Manage the onboarding process to ensure new hires are integrated with a people first culture.
- Provide additional support with training and continued education initiatives.
- Promote benefits of and provide training and guidance to employees on how to use the internal wiki effectively.
Employee Relations:
- Maintain accurate employee records and data.
- Facilitate open communication and address employee concerns.
- Maintain company policies and procedures including employment handbooks and contracts.
- Assist with conflict resolution and mediate disputes.
Benefits & Compensation:
- Communicate and educate employees on benefits programs (healthcare, 401k, etc.) in collaboration with the Finance department.
- Participate in annual performance and compensation reviews.
Retention & Morale:
- Run company wide huddles as needed on M,W,F.
- Organize company events and team-building activities.
- Track employee retention metrics and recommend strategies for improvement.
Compliance & Administration:
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws.
- Manage leave requests with the appropriate managers.
- Create a formal system for conflict escalation and management.
Results:
- Successfully recruit and retain top talent.
- Maintain a positive and productive work environment with high employee morale.

- Streamline HR processes and improve efficiency.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management or a related field (preferred).
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in an HR role.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficient in Sage and G Suite strongly preferred.
