Summary:
The Tony´s Mexican Restaurant dishwasher contributes to providing a pleasant and safe experience of hygiene and cleanliness to the customer, through the daily execution of the washing and cleaning activities of all kitchen utensils, dishes, cutlery, and glasses and keeping the kitchen and restaurant free of garbage and waste. Tony’s Mexican Restaurant has reviewed this job description to ensure that essential functions and basic duties have been included. Responsibilities:
The dishwasher is responsible for cleaning dishes in a food service environment to ensure that the kitchen has a constant supply of clean plates, bowls, cutlery, pots pans and glasses.
● Ensure the cleaning and disinfection of all kitchen utensils, dishes, glasses, and cutlery, following the procedure.
● Contributes to the correct maintenance, cleaning and sanitation of equipment and facilities in accordance with established health safety procedures.
● Contributes to the maintenance of the restaurant facilities, carrying out cleaning tasks int the different areas of the kitchen (counters, stoves, ovens, machinery, appliances).
● Taking out the trash and sanitizing the kitchen if needed.
● Report any anomaly or damage in the operation of the equipment to the head chef.
● Supports the head chef in emergency situations or replacing absent colleagues.
● Attend all scheduled meetings and provide suggestions for improvement.
● Other duties as assigned by kitchen supervisor / manager.
Qualifications:
● Ability to respond quickly to sounds.
● Walking and standing for extended periods of time.
● Work in a noisy, fast paced environment with distraction conditions.
● Working under pressure.
● Reach, bend stoop and wipe frequently.
● Must be at least 16 years of age.
● Demonstrates knowledge and ability to execute Tony’s Mexican Restaurant standards.
● Must have a current Food Handlers card issued by the State of Texas.
● Able to work early mornings, afternoons, and weekends.
● Must be a team player.
● Must be bilingual (Spanish English).
Education: Ninth grade, school
Experience: Not required.
