SUPERVISING COMMUNITY SERVICE OFFICER ADDICTIONS - FULL-TIME - COUNTY OF HUDSON
Under direction of the Division Chief, plans, develops, implements, administers, and coordinates drug and alcohol abuse prevention, treatment, and rehabilitation programs for the jurisdiction and does related administrative tasks as required such as RFP's, contracts and monitoring site visits; does other related duties as required.
Examples of job duties included but not limited to:
- Assist in needs assessment activities, including the creation of survey tools, facilitation of focus groups, and analysis of data
- Provide information and resources to service providers, individuals and families to ensure those seeking services are linked to the system of care.
- Conduct presentation on mental health as needed and participate in any and all activities in relation to the STARS mobile Outreach vehicle as needed.
- Monitor and track monthly level of service reports, provider expenditures and liaising with providers as needed.
- Assist in the facilitation of all Division meetings as needed, including logistical organization, the creation of meeting minutes and dissemination or materials as required.
- Responsible for providing light case management oversight and community engagement to Hudson County residents who access the Comprehensive Opioid Stimulate & Substance Use Program (COSSUP). This involves supervision of the Community Navigator case management program, STARS Mobile Outreach vehicle and Opioid Overdose Reduction kit distribution.
- Exceptional writing and communication skills and attention to detail is required.
- Public speaking experience is preferred.
- Other assignments as required by the Division Chief.
REQUIREMENTS:
Note: Applicants MUST meet one of the following or combination of both the experience and education. Thirty (30) semester hour credits are equal to one (1) year of relevant experience.
Eight (8) years of professional experience in preventive education, treatment, and rehabilitation in the field of substance use disorders and other behavioral issues and/or providing technical assistance to local governments in the development of such programs, one (1) year shall have been in a supervisory capacity and shall have included primary responsibility for the development, negotiation, and implementation of technical assistance programs.
Or
Possession of a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university; and four (4) of the above mentioned professional experience, one (1) year shall of which shall have been in a supervisory capacity and shall have included primary responsibility for the development, negotiation, and implementation of technical assistance programs.
Or
Possession of a Master's degree in Social Services, Social Work, Public Administration, or Public Health; and three (3) years of the above-mentioned professional experience, one (1) year of which shall have been in a supervisory capacity and shall have included primary responsibility for the development, negotiation, and implementation of technical assistance programs.
Candidates who possess credentials as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Counselor (LPC) or Licensed Clinical Alcohol & Drug Counselor (LCADC) is a plus. Bilingual candidate is a plus
