We're looking for a freelance trainer with experience in the following target behaviors:
Leash Manners, Leash reactivity, Overarousal, Puppy Training, Basic Manners, LATTE, Relaxation Protocols, Energy Displacement
Position open for short-experienced trainers who enjoy working dogs in their homes! It’s the ideal job for someone who understands dogs, learning about dog behavior, and being outside. Join our revolutionary Real World Training team! At Padfoot Pets, we believe in education first! Continued education will be available in forms of team meetings, paid training, audiobooks, physical books, free equipment rental, and CCPDT accredited videos and self-education is highly encouraged. We also pay trainers to work duties outside of training (if able) so any special skills will also be taken into consideration. We have partnered with Pet Wants Arvada so all of our Staff have access to a discount on treats/toys/training tools through the Arvada store!

All staff must pass a background check and complete 12 independent paid training sessions. This position is a CONTRACTED PART-TIME position with the ability to grow within the company with all of our other services! Independent Contractors are responsible for their own licensing, taxes, medical, and insurances and bonuses are offered for high levels of work to help cover costs. You work independently to give yourself and the pups lots of enrichment and individual training and follow along an agreed schedule.
JOB DUTIES
-goes to location (either home or agreed-to location) and takes dog through the Real World Training Program
-must have reliable transportation
-must have smartphone for accessing scheduling
-must have approved supplies for training available (i.e. lead, puzzle game, water, bowl, poop bags, varied value treats, etc.)
-complete each session with a report card and photos using Easy Busy Pets
-complete each session with Behavior report on Google Sheets/Spaces
-communicates with dog Owners on behavior/scheduling
-supported by Lead Trainer for complex behavior analysis
-commit to 1/month Staff Meetings/Educational workshops (last Wednesday)
REQUIREMENTS
- Valid ID.
- Reliable transportation
- Smartphone for accessing scheduling.
- Works well independently.
- Proficiency in Google Suite.
- minimum 1 year of Animal education/training within the past 5 years
- Training Certification not required but optimal (CPDT, PPG, IAABC, Karen Pryor, CBATI, or equivalent.
- The ability to walk for long periods of time.
- Patient, punctual, and reliable.
- Trustworthy and responsible.
Job Types: Part-time, Contract
Pay: $15.00 - $30.00 per hour
Expected hours: 5 – 25 per week
