Clay Platte Family Medicine Clinic is currently seeking outstanding and enthusiastic X-Ray Technician candidates to join our busy practice. X-Ray Technician applicants must be graduates of an accredited school of radiologic technology and registry eligible with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (AART).
Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:30a-5p and every other Saturday 8a-2p.
Applicants must also be proficient at performing the following assignments:
- Prepares patient for x-ray examinations by providing education, instruction and assisting in positioning body parts
- Conducts routine x-ray examinations on patients as ordered by the physician, nurse practitioner or physician assistant
- Maintains an adequate level of supplies in the x-ray suite and advises the Technician lead to needs as necessary
- Ensures equipment is operating properly and contacts appropriate party for equipment repair in order to ensure safe and efficient examinations of patients
- Performs and record scheduled quality control measures to ensure correct and accurate operation
- Conducts and facilitates DME, ABI's, diabetic eye exams, CPAP's, casting and splinting
- Maintains a log of x-ray procedures in order to prepare monthly tallies of operating activities
- Cleans and sterilizes equipment, instruments and work area following safety, cleanliness and infection control procedures
Education/Qualifications
- Graduated from an accredited school of radiologic technology and is registry eligible with the AART
- Maintain CEU credits as required by AART
- Current Basic Life Support certificate
- Minimum one-year work experience or education directly related to radiologic techniques
- Knowledge of anatomy and physiology necessary to perform x-ray testing including body mechanics and patient movement
- Knowledge of radiology equipment including safety hazards common to radiology
- Basic knowledge of medical terminology
- Basic computer and data entry skills
- Knowledge of customer service concepts including the importance of appropriate image
- Ability to communicate clearly and positively
Environmental/Working Conditions
- Work is performed in a typical well-lighted office
- Work involves frequent contact with staff and patients
- Work involves occasional walking, standing, bending, twisting and reaching
- May require lifting a maximum of 30 lbs
