The Bridge is a multi-concept food court newly opened on the ground floor of the US Navy’s administrative building. Featuring the exceptional Hissho Sushi Restaurant, Which Wich Sandwiches, and Aquila Coffee, this dynamic space is set to welcome both Naval personnel and the general public. We are in search of enthusiastic Sushi Chefs to craft delicious sushi! As a Sushi Chef, you will undertake prep work, rolling, and presentation duties while strictly adhering to food safety protocols. Due to our business servicing the naval base, a military background check is required.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare a diverse range of meats, seafood, poultry, and vegetables, along with sushi, following company standards.
- Maintain uncompromising standards for product quality.
- Execute sushi preparation based on recipes and product specifications.
- Assist in food prep tasks during quieter periods.
- Portion food accurately according to set standards and recipes.
- Employ proper cutting techniques, packaging, and labeling practices.
- Ensure visually appealing presentation of sushi products in trays and displays.
- Contribute to opening, operational maintenance, and closing tasks.
- Verify all necessary logs, including temperature and pH levels of rice.
- Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of the sushi menu.
- Uphold cleanliness and sanitation in work areas, including equipment and surfaces.
- Manage produce inventory levels as instructed by management.
- Adhere to local sanitation and health regulations.
- Maintain a hazard-free work environment, promptly reporting equipment issues to management.
- Display a friendly, professional demeanor and possess strong communication skills.
- Put away incoming supplies on delivery days
Requirements:
- Experienced sushi chef with a minimum of one year of prior food handling experience.
- Preferably ServSafe certified with knowledge of food safety standards.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a team and uphold a strong work ethic.
- Ability to effectively communicate in English.
Physical Requirements:
- Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs. and performing tasks requiring reaching, bending, stooping, and prolonged standing.

Pay: $20.00 - $23.00 per hour
