Registered Dietician

Required Qualifications:
· Current Registered Dietitian status
· Bachelor’s or advanced degree from an accredited institution with a major in Nutrition, Dietetics, or related field
- Excellent knowledge of skilled nursing regulations (federal/state/local) as they pertain to dietary field, including interpretation and implementation
Preferred Qualifications:
· Clinical and/or long term care experience
· Strong communication skills
· Excellent time management & problem-solving skills
· Clinical nutrition assessment, follow up, and nutrition counseling for new admissions, analyze and assess weight variances, hemodialysis, impaired chewing/swallowing ability, etc.
· Make appropriate recommendations for nutritional interventions
· Assists our dietary manager in keeping kitchen clean and up to code
· Nutrition education for residents, staff, and families of residents

What you will do:
As the (RD) Registered Dietitian, you are responsible for assessing the nutritional care of each resident/patient in the facility. You will advise the clinical team, dietary department, and Administration on the nutritional status of residents including lab value interpretation, nutritional intake, consumption patterns, food/drug interactions, therapeutic diets, and overall customer satisfaction.
Evaluates the patient's nutrition needs/status to develop an individualized nutrition plan. Instructs patient/family/care provider as appropriate on recommended nutrition plan using an individualized approach. Provides ongoing nutrition assessment of patients; modifies nutrition goals/dietary recommendations as needed on a regular basis. Participates actively in Interdisciplinary Team activities, including patient care conferences, QAPI meetings/projects, physician clinics, and home visits.
Essential Job Functions:
- Develops and evaluates regular and therapeutic diets, including texture of foods and liquids, to meet the specialized needs of residents
- Develops and implements person-centered education programs involving food and nutrition services for all facility staff
- Oversees regulatory compliance for county and state regulations
- Annually provides required training to all staff for culture change and dining
- Identifies malnourished residents as well as residents at risk for malnutrition and works collaboratively with interdisciplinary team to identify appropriate interventions, resources or solutions
- Maintains dietetic registration and continuing education hours as specified by American Dietetic Association and state licensure regulations where applicable Collaborates with interdisciplinary team, ensuring that all work areas are safe and clean
- Demonstrate knowledge of, and respect for, the rights, dignity and individuality of each resident in all interactions

Pay: $42.00 - $48.00 per hour
