Essential Duties:
- Compliance with policies, procedures, and best practices mandated for the laboratories to ensure compliance to ISO 17025 as well as other defined accreditation requirements.
- Work in a fast-paced, lab environment with variable sample volume which requires flexibility in your schedule to consistently meet turn-around time requirements.
- Ensure all data is correctly analyzed, interpreted, and recorded.
- Work closely with vendors and laboratories to provide accurate and current product information to other departments.
- Authorized to analyze, review, and approve results related to all internally and/or by 3rd party results especially relating to ISO17025 requirements.
- Monitor and help establish standards for products, product specifications, and processes.
- Validate that products are being manufactured according to GMP/QC specifications and according to label claims.
- Keeps laboratory supplies ready by inventorying stock; placing orders; verifying receipt.
- Documents information by maintaining daily logs and equipment record books ensuring all records are complete.
- Responsible for product testing regarding microbial, identity, purity, potency, and strength, including validation of product shelf life.
- Keep the Senior Laboratory Technician and/or Director of Quality fully aware of new developments and issues.
- Utilizing only ISO 17025 UHN approved 3rd party labs for any testing not applicable to the internal laboratory’s scope.
- Make recommendations to improve Laboratory/Product Quality/Product Assurance/GMP standards.
- Responsible for filing and following good housekeeping.
- Responsible for following Good Manufacturing Practices and Good Laboratory Practices.
- Adhere to confidentiality agreements.
Requirements & Qualifications:
- Associates degree preferred; 2 - 4 years of field experience in quality control or laboratory position preferred.
- Working knowledge of laboratory methods and technical documentation required.
- Possess an above average level of mathematical aptitude and always pay great attention to detail.
· Proficient in the Microsoft Office suite, especially Word and Excel.
- Function efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
· Ability to wear PPE when required.
· Ability to work independently and handle multiple projects at the same time with limited supervision, excellent planning, time management and decision-making skills.
- Maintenance and accountability for high levels of customer service (internal and external).
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent work history, attendance, initiative, and drive to succeed.
· Maintain excellent communication and relationships with others; be a team player; maintain a positive attitude.
