Summary
Mercantile Hall is an event venue located in the heart of historic downtown Burlington, Wisconsin. After opening in 2017, Mercantile Hall has served tens of thousands of people helping to celebrate weddings, corporate meetings, and special life events. We are known for our unique setting, small town love, and helpful, high-service minded staff. We are growing and are seeking part-time staff to add to our team of amazing event staff.
Responsibilities
This position requires availability to work Fridays, Saturdays, and/or Sundays. Candidates should be willing to work, at minimum, Friday or Sunday most weekends during April-October. Shifts typically begin at 7:00pm, however, Closing Captains must be willing to arrive by 5:30pm when required. The shift ends after the event concludes and the responsibilities below are satisfied, which can range anywhere from 12:30-2:30am.
Position responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

Complete pre-shift meeting with Event Manager and review event timeline

Greet the Security Manager and provide a brief of the event

Ensure that restrooms are fully stocked throughout the evening

Coordinate execution of toast with DJ

Coordinate dessert service with couple, caterer, and DJ

Execute transition from dinner to dance floor with Security Manager

Coordinate any late-night food service as needed
-
Coordinate any late-night experiences as needed (outdoor games, firepit, etc.)

Coordinate with couple and staff to resolve any issues that arise

Compete Closing Checklist with Security Manager

Cover outdoor camper

Remove lights and hanging items as needed

Initial pack-up of decor items as needed

Send Event Summary to Event Manager and any applicable Mercantile Hall team members

Complete Cleaning Checklist and leave accessible to cleaning crew and event staff

Ensure all outdoor items are secured

Ensure building is locked securely upon exit from event

Ensure that all fire & safety codes are adhered to during set-up and followed by guests (training will be provided) and safety guidelines are followed throughout the event.
Compensation
$200 per fully executed event
