Responsibilities:
- Use knives and other cutting tools to prepare food items according to recipes and menu specifications.
- Ensure that all food items are cut and prepared in a safe and sanitary manner, following food safety guidelines.
- Assist in menu planning and recipe development, ensuring that portion sizes and presentation are consistent.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, including proper storage of cutting tools and equipment.
- Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations and timely food preparation.
- Follow all food handling procedures, including proper storage, labeling, and rotation of ingredients.
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations in the kitchen.
Requirements:
- Previous experience working in the food industry, preferably as a cook or cutter.
- Knowledge of food safety practices and regulations.
- Proficiency in food preparation techniques, including knife skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow recipes and instructions accurately.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work well within a team.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
