JOB TITLE: FLOATING SUPERVISOR
ENTRY LEVEL RETAIL MANAGEMENT POSITION

JOB OBJECTIVE: To assist in control of the retail facility under their responsibility for all aspects of its operation and to assist the Store Manager and Supervisor in every way possible. Floating Supervisors will have a schedule placing them at various locations weekly but will maintain the same level of responsibility and management. The Floating Supervisor is to work efficiently and effectively with human, financial, and physical resources to determine and achieve organization objectives. To follow internal guidelines and procedures to ensure customer retention and drive retail sales, including efficient and effective stocking of the store with quality merchandise that is priced and rotated correctly.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
1. To adhere to the following Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's):
a. SOP 1. Floating Supervisor's responsibilities are to see that: i. Daily business ethics and conduct are followed. This applies to all personnel under their supervision. ii. Management decisions are made in the best interest of the company. iii. Proper accounting of all financial transactions is made. iv. He or she is knowledgeable of all laws, facts, and procedures pertaining to unemployment compensation, and worker’s compensation. v. He or she is knowledgeable of all phases of store operations, including, but not limited to warehouse operations, merchandising, scheduling and payroll, pricing, maintenance of equipment, truck operations, storage requirements, banking procedures, and forms of advertisement used in the business. vi. The store under his or her control is kept neat, clean, and maintained in a manner customary to retail establishments. vii. All personnel are properly trained in their respective positions, and are knowledgeable of their duties and responsibilities. viii. The General Manager is informed of any situation that may affect the corporation financially, legally, morally, or politically. ix. All personnel, including themselves, are well groomed and suitably dressed for work. x. All policies and procedures set forth by the General Manager and Board of Directors are practiced, followed, and in place. Forms required will be completed legibly, accurately, and timely. b. SOP 2. Cash Paid Outs i. Cash paid outs will be held to a minimum. If the paid out is to be used at a business that accepts checks or corporate credit card, then these shall be used. Casual labor is strictly forbidden. Each paid out will require a receipt. Paid out sheets will be kept current and legible with detailed explanations at all times. c. SOP 3. Bookkeeping i. It shall be the Floating Supervisor's duty to see that all necessary forms and records are kept current and are prepared in a professional, legible manner. All records will be made available to the General Manager as required. d. SOP 4. Salary Increase of Store Level Employees i. No salary increases will be given to any employee without first receiving approval from the General Manager.
e. SOP 5. Floating Supervisor Promotions i. If a Floating Supervisor is promoted, the next position will be Supervisor or Floating Supervisor at an alternative location. Floating Supervisors may be relocated depending on the circumstance with or without notice and may be required to travel periodically as needed. f. SOP 8. Discharging and Hiring of Employees i. Floating Supervisors should communicate with the Store Manager prior to interviewing or hiring an employee. Incidents which require disciplinary action should be dealt with the Store Manager or Supervisor present. In the event this is not feasible, the employee should be dismissed until the Store Manager or
Supervisor can assist (i.e. sent home for the day). g. SOP 9. Employee Transfer and Re-Hires i. No employee is permitted to transfer from one store to another without the approval of the Floating Supervisor from which the employee is leaving, and the approval of the General Manager. No person is to be re-hired without the approval of the General Manager.
h. SOP 10. Hiring of Relations
i. Prospective employees who are related to current employees must receive the approval of the General Manager prior to their employment.
i. SOP 11. Misplaced, Lost, Stolen, or Missing Deposits i. Deposits are the responsibility of the Floating Supervisor; therefore, any missing deposits will be deducted from the Floating Supervisor's salary or commissions immediately. Robbery or burglary will be the only exception.
j. SOP 12. Employee Loans or Salary Advances
i. Company policy does not permit salary advances or loans.
k. SOP 13. Resolve Customer Situations / Store Incidents / Customer or Employee Injury
i. In the event of a situation on the general property or inside the retail store, the Floating Supervisor should assume control. Floating Supervisors are responsible for proper resolution of any situation including irate customers, rejecting unsatisfactory drop off donations, potential cheating or theft or customer injury.
Belligerent, loitering, or unsanitary customers are not wanted. Involve local authorities if required. ii. Proper documentation should be completed during an employee or customer injury and all witness information, even if not considered relevant, should be obtained and complete documentation is required including photographs of the scene from all angles.
2. To obtain, know, and understand all job objectives and titles of each department and position within the store.
3. To know, understand, and perform or delegate every "essential job function" of each and every job description within the store.
4. To know, understand, and perform or delegate every "other job functions" of each and every job description within the store.
5. To possess and exercise the "essential physical characteristics" needed to execute each and every job description within the store.
6. To be able to perform in each and every environmental condition listed in all respective job descriptions within the store, including Truck Driver.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION: The Floating Supervisor must have a high school diploma or its equivalent. Any college experience or a college degree will be beneficial.
EXPERIENCE: Floating Supervisors must have at least two years experience in a supervising capacity with another corporation or business. Any retail experience will be beneficial to the individual and the company.
LICENSES: The Floating Supervisor must have any/all licenses, certifications, and/or registrations required for the performance of each and every job description within the stores.
OTHER: The Floating Supervisor must be able to exercise simple skills with cellular telephones and computers (ie: send and receive text messages, send and receive e-mails and attachments).
ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL SKILLS: (These are the physical skills required to perform the essential job functions and their frequency during the work week.)
1. Every Floating Supervisor is required to fill positions that are unoccupied. This may consist of him or her physically occupying the vacancy, depending on the availability of alternative resources; therefore, all Floating Supervisors must meet each and every "essential physical skill" as listed in each and every job description within the store.
2. The Floating Supervisor must be able to communicate effectively with each and every superior.

Pay: $45,000.00 - $48,000.00 per year
