Responsibilities
Coordinates and provides athletic training services for athletic programs in the high school setting. Participates in outreach activities, as available, as a representative of Mayo Foundation for Medical Education and Research. Delivers treatment and clinical care to patients under the supervision of the physician in accordance with quality standards of the Department of Orthopedic Surgery, Division of Sports Medicine. Further the role of the athletic trainer at the Department of Orthopedic Surgery, Division of Sports Medicine through the development of strategic goals, the documentation of information related to the care and referral of athletes, the formation of new programs and materials focused on wellness, injury prevention, and fitness for athletes.
Qualifications
A master’s degree in athletic training and certification by the Board of Certification (BOC) for Athletic Training, along with Minnesota Board of Medical Practice Licensure is required. CPR certification is required. Must be able to demonstrate clinical proficiency with good manual dexterity in order to manipulate treatment equipment. Must have strong communication and human relation skills to interact with clinicians, administrators, students, coaches, parents, etc. Experience in program development, resource allocation, and marketing of athletic training services is preferred. Willing to work evenings and weekends.

Schedule Details
Work schedule is generally Monday through Friday afternoons with some evening shifts depending on athletic event schedule. Will include some weekend work on Saturdays at times and occasional Sundays. Summer schedule is generally lighter hours.
Weekend Schedule
Hours are generally during the mornings and afternoons. Schedule depends on school athletic schedules and other outreach events serviced by sports medicine.
