Qualifications:
- Bachelor's and/or master’s degree in accounting or related field
- CPA or actively pursuing CPA (Preferred)
- 3-5 Years of Experience with Government and/or Texas Independent School Districts Audits (Preferred)
- Ability to travel (10-25%) (Clients are primarily located in Houston, TX and outer lying areas)
- Experience training and developing audit associates and leading engagement teams.
- Possess demonstrated experience (5+ years) in public accounting providing audit services (Preferred)
- Possess outstanding attention to detail and analytical skills
- Demonstrate initiative, creativity and imagination in approach to work
- Exhibit time management and organizational skills
- Project management experience
- Demonstrate a solid working knowledge of client businesses
- Team player, proficient at establishing working relationships with all co-workers
- Possess effective interpersonal and communication skills – both written and verbal
- Demonstrate a commitment to exceptional client service and individual growth
Responsibilities:
- Assure accuracy and completeness of financial statements through auditing activities
- Analyze the internal controls of an organization
- Provide suggestions and recommendations for improvements in internal controls
- Develop a relationship with the client to ensure information efficiently flows to the audit team
- Preparation of audit reviews after a complete analysis of the client’s accounts
- Ensure that all business transactions are in compliance with government rules and regulations
- Communicate with clients and address their questions and concerns in a timely manner
