Job Summary: The Marketplace Insurance Agent will be responsible for assisting individuals and families in Michigan with enrolling in health insurance coverage through the Health Insurance Marketplace. The agent will provide guidance, information, and support to clients to help them understand their health insurance options, choose appropriate plans based on their needs and preferences, and complete the enrollment process.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct outreach to potential clients and educate them about the Health Insurance Marketplace and available insurance options.
- Assist clients in understanding eligibility requirements for marketplace plans, including subsidies and financial assistance programs.
- Guide clients through the process of comparing different insurance plans available on the marketplace, explaining coverage details, premiums, deductibles, and out-of-pocket costs.
- Help clients complete the enrollment application accurately and efficiently, ensuring all necessary information is provided.
- Provide ongoing support to clients throughout the enrollment period, addressing any questions, concerns, or issues that may arise.
- Stay updated on changes to healthcare laws, regulations, and marketplace policies to accurately inform clients and provide up-to-date assistance.
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to all privacy regulations when handling client information.
- Collaborate with other members of the insurance agency team and external partners to ensure seamless service delivery to clients.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
- Must hold a valid insurance license in the state of Michigan.
- Prior experience in health insurance sales, customer service, or related field preferred.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to explain complex information in a clear and understandable manner.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to establish rapport with clients from diverse backgrounds.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in computer applications and software, including Microsoft Office and insurance industry-specific tools.
- Commitment to maintaining ethical standards and providing high-quality service to clients.
