Overall position description:
- The Inventory Control Specialist is directly accountable for the accurate control of Virtex Inventory. Techniques such as cycle counting and adjusting the inventory daily, elimination of production shortages, and the verification of inventory will be aggressively pursued. This role also participates in all physical inventories, as well as assisting the accounting team.
Essential functions of the job:
- Perform cycle counts for items on a predetermined schedule.
- Ensure that all relevant paperwork and system input is completed for cycle counts, inventory adjustments and maintain weekly loss tracking.
- Trend and monitor inventory accuracy and standard loss factor variances.
- Track and manage aging inventory using periodic data collection and reporting.
- Work with the quality department on all hold inventory to coordinate the final disposition or sent back to suppliers in a timely matter.
- Coordinate Year End Physical Inventory process, properly documenting and validating accuracy of variance reconciliation.
- Adhere to the month end cutoff policy which includes validating all inventory adjustments are finalized.
- Perform any additional duties as assigned by Plant Controller.
Requirements:
Required knowledge, skills, and abilities:
- Must be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Required PC skills, including MS Word, Excel, Outlook.
- Strong analytical skills and problem-solving skills.
- Able to collaborate and work successfully in a team environment.
- Ability to perform with high efficiency.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and execute tasks independently.
- Working knowledge of industry standard ERP system, a plus
Required education and experience:
- High School Diploma or equivalency
- Prior experience in Inventory Control (on-the-job training and experience may be substituted for this requirement)
- Prefer – Experience with electronic components and BOMs
- Prefer – Experience in Contract or OEM Electronics Manufacturing
