Job Title: Personal Trainer / Exercise Physiologist Assistant
Job Overview:
We are seeking a knowledgeable and motivated Personal Trainer/ assistant to add to our Wellness team. This person will be responsible for managing and supervising the exercise floor and/or aquatic center. Duties include assisting patients with proper exercise form, guiding workouts, group fitness, HR monitoring, and manual blood pressure checks. The ideal candidate has experience/knowledge on cardiovascular disease and chronic pain and is familiar with geriatric populations.
Responsibilities:
- Guide patients through exercises that are appropriate for their disease processes and manageable for their current physical ability.
- Manage and assist in chronic pain management through exercise.
- Provide guidance and support to clients during exercise sessions to ensure proper form and technique
- Monitor patient safety including form, heart rate, blood pressure, and blood sugar (for diabetics).
- Make adjustments/ provide modifications for patients when necessary.
- Educate clients on the benefits of regular physical activity and healthy lifestyle choices.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, such as exercise physiologists, nurse practitioners, and physicians on staff.
- Stay updated on the latest trends and research in exercise physiology to enhance client outcomes.
Skills:
- Be familiar with disease processes: hypertension, hyperlipidemia, osteoarthritis, osteoporosis, COPD, anxiety, depression, congestive heart failure, chronic kidney disease, etc.
- Strong background in physical education and physiology knowledge.
- Experience in fitness.
- Certification in personal training or related field preferred.
- Knowledge of health club operations and group fitness programs.
- Ability to design individualized exercise programs based on client needs.
- Proficiency in program design for various fitness levels/ability.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge/ familiarity with geriatric population.

Pay: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour
