Job Summary:
We are seeking an Assistant Kitchen Manager to oversee our kitchen. This person will be responsible for supervising the kitchen staff, ensuring food quality and safety, managing inventory, and maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment. The ideal candidate will have excellent knowledge of food handling and safety regulations, and a passion for delivering exceptional dining experiences.
This location is a smoking bar, so the candidate needs to be ok with that.
Duties:
- Ensure that all food is prepared in accordance with established recipes and quality standards
- Monitor inventory levels and place orders for food supplies as needed
- Oversee the proper storage and rotation of food products to minimize waste
- Train new kitchen staff on proper food handling procedures and safety protocols
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment, including regular cleaning schedules and equipment maintenance
- Monitor kitchen operations to ensure efficient workflow and timely preparation of meals
- Address any customer concerns or complaints regarding food quality or service promptly
Qualifications:
- Strong knowledge of food handling and safety regulations
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Proficient in inventory control and ordering procedures
- Ability to effectively communicate with kitchen staff, management, and customers
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to make quick decisions under pressure
- Knowledge of cooking techniques and culinary trends
You must have your Servsafe certificate.
