SUMMARY:
The HMDA and Loan Review Specialist is responsible for assisting in administering and maintaining the Company’s Compliance guidelines by validating conformity and adherence with the Home Mortgage Disclosure Act (HMDA). This position includes responsibility for collecting and validating HMDA reporting information, reviewing loan documents, and all other tasks assigned.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Maintain a good working knowledge of the requirements of the Home Mortgage Disclosure Act.
2. Stay up to date with the federal requirements and the bank’s lending practices performing a thorough and accurate loan analysis.
3. Responsible for checking all HMDA related fields within the Loan Origination System
4. Review all originated and non-originated loans to ensure the collection of HMDA data is complete and accurate.
5. Utilize prescribed HMDA audit form to validate the data fields against source documents.
6. Work with Compliance Officer to resolve inconsistencies in loan data and recommends changes as warranted that will ensure the accuracy in reporting of HMDA data.
7. Other duties that may be assigned regarding compliance matters.
8. Responsible for the review of loan and supporting documentation to ensure the banks interests are protected, coding is accurate on the Jack Henry Core system, and the customers loan is set up accurately.
9. Review of all Non-Originated Loans for compliance with various Lending Regulations & Laws and adherence to correct documentation.
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
10. Review of Adverse Action Plan regarding loan review.
11. Performs other tasks requested by supervisor as they relate to the Bank and its functions.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
- Education – High School Diploma or GED
- Experience – Minimum of one (1) year of banking or equivalent combination of education and/or related experience.
COMPUTER SKILLS/EQUIPMENT USED:
- General office equipment: computer, printer, fax, copier, scanner, calculator, etc.
- Computer knowledge in a Windows environment.
- Basic knowledge in Microsoft Word and Excel.
