LICENSED PRACTICAL NURSE (LPN)
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) is responsible for providing quality inmate/patient care and performing technical nursing care in the correctional setting. This position assists the medical technician in fulfilling their responsibilities and is supervised by the registered nurse. This is an hourly, non-exempt position.
The qualified candidate:
- Must be dependable
- Must be a licensed practical nurse in the state of Tennessee.
· Must have proven excellence in the performance of practical nursing skills.
· One year of experience (preferred).
- Must possess an understanding of the concepts of nursing in the correctional health setting.
- Must have a positive, professional demeanor who enjoys being a member of a multidisciplinary care team.
- Must demonstrate patient advocacy and participate as a team member in the delivery of timely, safe and appropriate emergency and routine nursing care to the incarcerated patient.
- Must practice excellent communication skills with patients, officers and medical staff.
