Job Title: Risk Manager
Location: Murfreesboro/Knoxville, TN
Reports to: VP Merchant Accounting
Job Summary
The Risk Manager is responsible for overseeing the functions dedicated towards the mitigation of merchant loss and ensuring merchant adherence to Card Brand, Sponsor Bank, and government regulations. The Risk Manager will develop, implement, and maintain Risk Management procedures and policies. The Risk Manager will support and develop the Risk management team to continually strive to protect the company from financial loss.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide guidance and performance management to risk analysts.
- Complete Sponsor Bank SARS reporting and Card Brand risk related reporting as required.
- Create, maintain and enforce departmental policies and procedures.
- Engage with the Card Brands and Sponsor Banks to resolve escalations.
- Monitor department workflow and assist to maintain services levels. Implement process improvements to enhance effectiveness and productivity.
- Manage compliance and regulatory updates from that impact Risk and communicate and/or implement changes as required.
- Maintain awareness of industry fraud trends and/or changes related to risk management practices.
- Effectively communicate with merchants, sales agents, and management to address/mitigate risk issues.
- Train and educate other associates and merchants in risk prevention methodology and tools.
- Assist with developing, monitoring and tracking internal department metrics that will be shared with staff and upper management to measure achievement towards goals.
